How HR OK reviews Fair Work guidance

Every public guide and tool is designed to start with the employer’s real question, show the primary source and make the next action easier to understand.

Our source hierarchy

HR OK prioritises primary and official Australian sources: the current Fair Work Act and regulations on legislation.gov.au, published modern awards and decisions from the Fair Work Commission, and practical guidance from the Fair Work Ombudsman. Tax and superannuation topics use the Australian Taxation Office where relevant.

How a guide is prepared

We define the employer question, identify the rules and official guidance most directly connected to it, separate the general rule from common exceptions, and turn the result into a plain-English sequence. Every guide links to the official sources used and carries a review date.

How updates are handled

HR OK monitors its Fair Work legislation source and reviews affected guidance when a source or obligation changes. A changed date is only published after the relevant content, links or structured information have been checked—not merely to make a page appear fresh.

What a guide cannot decide

Public information cannot determine every award, enterprise agreement, contract term, state law, protected attribute or disputed fact. HR OK provides general compliance support, not legal advice. High-risk, disputed or complex decisions may require a qualified workplace adviser or lawyer.

Corrections and feedback

If a source has changed, a link is broken or a guide could be clearer, contact HR OK and identify the page and issue. Corrections are assessed against the primary source before publication.
